Publish and update your wiki

Coming soon
Publishing is always a step you take yourself.

The Wiki status line tells you where you are in four facts, read from left to right:

Address, Draft, Check and Public site, each with a dot and a word. On the right, it shows only one button at a time: the one for the next possible action. Once the site is published, the Site on line switch is added there.

  1. Check this versionYou request the content check on the version shown.
  2. Publish the wikiThe approved version goes online, step by step.
  3. Publish the updateEach new version goes through a check again, then through a publication.
The three buttons of a publication, in order. Between the check and the publication, any edit to the draft sends you back to the start.
  1. When the draft is ready, click Review this version. If you have already had this version checked, the button says Request a new review.

  2. The status moves from “Pending” to “Checking”. The details fill in as they come: all the content is examined, even after a first refusal.

  3. The result appears under Check, in one word: “Approved”, “Changes required”, “Internal review required”, “Review unavailable” or “Expired approval or changed version”. As long as nothing has been requested, the item says “Not checked yet”. The reasons are listed below, location by location.

Only “Approved” opens publication. The other four results block it just as much. See What content review refuses.

The Publish wiki button only appears when everything is in place: the version shown is approved, that approval has not already been used, the address is connected, and no publication is in progress. On a wiki that is already online, it is called Publish update.

Publishing must also be enabled on our side. As long as it is not, the button does not appear and

Public site shows the note “Publishing is not enabled for the pilot yet.”

The publication then goes through a series of steps, shown in plain words under

Public site:

Step What happens
“Waiting for delivery” The request is recorded and waits for its turn.
“Uploading the wiki” The pages and images are sent to the hosting.
“Ready to go live” Everything is in place, nothing is visible to players yet.
“Going live…” The switch to the new version.
“Checking the public site” The site is checked at your address to confirm.
“Published” It is online.

As long as the publication is “Waiting for delivery”, you can still stop it with the

Cancel this publication button. Just before sending, the version is checked again: if it has expired or changed in the meantime, the publication fails without sending anything. Once sending has started, you have to wait for its result.

  • “Publication failed” — the publication stopped. The previous version stays online for your players: a failed publication never leaves an empty page. Fix what is reported, then start again.
  • “Publication cancelled” — you stopped it yourself.
  • “Our team needs to review the delivery” — the state of the publication could not be established with certainty. This wiki is frozen until the situation is resolved: no new publication is accepted. It is handled on our side; write to support@vibestarter.pro if the state does not change.

An update is the same cycle, from start to finish: the agent changes the draft, you review the preview, you request a new check, you publish. There is no shortcut, and that is intended: every version that goes online has been checked.

When the draft is newer than the website, the Public site item shows it: “Online · version N”, then “the site shows an older version than the draft”.

Once a version is published, the status line shows the Site on line switch.

  • Turning it off takes the site down. Public site changes to “Offline · version N kept”, with the note “Players see an unavailable page. Put the site back on line to publish an update.” Your address stays yours, and your published version is kept as it is. The wiki leaves the directory while it is offline.
  • Turning it back on puts the same version back online, with no new check and no new publication.
  • While the site is offline, nothing can be published. No check or publication button is offered, and a request answers “The site is off line: put it back on line before publishing an update.”
  • During a publication, the switch is not offered. It comes back once delivery is finished.

The change is verified at your address before it is saved: if the site still responds after being taken down, the app reports it and the switch stays on.

Community ends for the game at the end of the paid period after a cancellation, at the end of a Starter pack’s month, or when a renewal stays unpaid. The site then goes offline by itself: your players see an unavailable page and the wiki leaves the directory. The draft, the published version and the address are kept. An email warns you and gives the date on which the wiki would be deleted.

  • If you resume Community, the site comes back online by itself, at the same address, within a few minutes. Two exceptions: a site you had turned off yourself with Site on line stays off, and if the review policy has changed since the publication, the content must first pass a review again (see If the review policy has changed).
  • If Community is not resumed, the wiki and its address are deleted 90 days after Community ends. An email warns you 15 days before, with the date. After the deletion, nothing can be restored, and the address becomes free for everyone: another game can reserve it.
  • A late renewal cuts nothing for 3 days. If the payment is not confirmed on its due date, the site stays online 3 more days and an email warns you. Without payment at the end of those 3 days, the site goes offline; as soon as the payment goes through, it comes back by itself.

Deleting the project, or your VibeStarter account, also deletes the wiki and its address: the 90-day period does not apply.

Once published, your wiki appears in the public directory of wikis, wiki-vibe.com, with its title, its tagline, its number of pages and its date of last update. The directory is updated shortly after the publication.

On the other hand, publishing a wiki page sends no message to the Discord of your game. The two services are independent. See Your game’s Discord.

How many times can I publish? The service accepts ten review requests and ten publications per rolling 24 hours, per account. Beyond that, you have to wait for earlier requests to leave this window; the counter does not necessarily reset at midnight. Only one publication at a time per wiki. The whole service is also limited to one hundred review requests per 24 hours, all accounts combined: a request can be refused even though you have not used yours.

Can I unpublish my wiki? Yes: turn off Site on line. The site is no longer served and leaves the directory, your version and your address are kept, and you can put it back online whenever you want. See Take the site down, and put it back up.

The site did not change after a “Published” publication. Clear your browser cache and reload. If the gap persists, compare the version number shown by the app with the one in the article.

An older result is no longer enough for a new publication. Run the check again. To put back online a version published under an older policy, the exact content of that version must pass the current checks. If your draft has changed since, contact support to recover the version to check.
