Uninstall VibeStarter

Uninstalling removes the app. Your data stays on your disk: projects, local library, preferences, and logs — unless you tick, on Windows, the box that deletes data in the uninstaller. Your account stays active, and your projects saved online stay online.

  1. Fully close VibeStarter and Roblox Studio.
  2. Open the Windows settings, under Installed apps, find Vibe Starter, then click Uninstall.
  3. On the confirmation screen, leave the box that offers to delete the app’s data unticked, unless you want to start from scratch.
  4. Let the uninstaller finish.

Ticked, this box erases your preferences, your logs, and your local secret vault. On an installation that dates from before 3.6.0, your projects and local library may be stored in the same place: it then erases them too.

The uninstaller first stops the virtual machine processes, then removes the app and the plugin installed in Roblox Studio: %LOCALAPPDATA%\Roblox\Plugins\VibeStarterSync.rbxm.

The detail of each folder is in Where your data is on disk.

If you want to start from scratch, delete the folders listed above after saving what matters.

Before you delete anything, secure:

  • Your projects: they have no separate folder; they live in the agents’ environment, the vm folder. Copy this whole folder, with VibeStarter closed: it contains your projects and their archives. Code saved online is not enough — see Your code is saved automatically.
  • Your local asset library: it exists only on this computer and does not sync — see Where your assets go.

On Mac, Keychain entries are deleted by hand with the Keychain Access app — see Your API keys and credential store.

Uninstalling does not close your account or delete your online data. To act on the account itself, see Your account and your data and Cancel, or what to do if a payment fails.

  • The Windows uninstaller deletes no data as long as its data-deletion box stays unticked.
  • On Mac, neither the Studio plugin nor the Keychain entries are removed automatically.
  • No uninstallation serves as a migration method.

I uninstall: do I free one of my two linked devices? Nothing guarantees that uninstalling frees the slot. Remove the device yourself, in the

Connected devices section of the account area on the website — see Create your account and connect your computer. The freed slot can be used by another computer as long as your account has not linked four different devices in 30 days; beyond that, support reopens a slot.

The plugin stays in Roblox Studio after uninstalling on Mac. Remove VibeStarterSync.rbxm from the Studio plugins folder, with Studio closed. The exact path is shown in Settings → Workspace → Roblox Studio plugin, as long as the app is still installed.

I reinstall later: do I get my projects back? Projects still on the disk are found again. Those you deleted are not: the online backup holds only code.
