macOS 15 or later, Apple Silicon chip only.

On Mac, VibeStarter is distributed as a `.dmg` disk image, for Apple Silicon chips only. There is no universal version and no Intel version.

## Before you start

1. Check your chip: Apple menu → About This Mac. The **Chip** line must show Apple M1 or newer. If it shows an Intel processor, VibeStarter will not work.

2. Check your macOS version on the same screen: you need **macOS 15 or later**.

3. Check the rest of the configuration in [Check that your computer is compatible](/en/application/premiers-pas/compatibilite/).

## The steps

1. On [vibestarter.pro](https://vibestarter.pro/en), open the download page and choose **macOS**. The file is called `VibeStarter_<version>_aarch64.dmg`.

2. Open the downloaded `.dmg` file. A window shows the app icon and a shortcut to **Applications**.

3. Drag **Vibe Starter** onto the **Applications** folder. This choice also decides where your projects and local files go: on the same volume as the app. To put them on an external disk, drop the app on that disk instead.

4. Eject the disk image, then open **Vibe Starter** from the folder where you put it.

5. The first-launch wizard opens on the Hardware step. The rest is described in [The first launch, step by step](/en/application/premiers-pas/premier-lancement/).

No unlocking needed

The app is signed with an Apple developer ID, notarized by Apple, and its notarization ticket is stapled to the file. **You do not need to right-click and choose Open, or go through System Settings.** A double-click is enough.

## Virtualization on Mac

Nothing to turn on. Apple Silicon Macs provide hardware virtualization natively, and VibeStarter uses it directly. The BIOS steps described for Windows have no equivalent here.

If the app won't start

An environment that refuses to launch, an empty window, a crash at startup: the procedures are grouped in [The app won’t start](/en/aide/demarrage/).

## What the app installs alongside

- The **VibeStarter Sync** plugin in the Roblox Studio plugins folder, after your explicit agreement at first launch — see [Link VibeStarter to Roblox Studio](/en/application/studio/).
- Entries in the **macOS Keychain** for your session token and your API keys — see [Your API keys and credential store](/en/application/reglages/cles-et-trousseau/).
- Its settings and logs in your personal library folder; heavy data follows the installation volume — see [Where your data is on disk](/en/application/reglages/donnees-sur-le-disque/).

## Limits

- Apple Silicon only: an Intel Mac cannot install the app.
- macOS 15 at minimum.
- There is no uninstaller on Mac: see [Uninstall VibeStarter](/en/application/premiers-pas/desinstaller/).

## Frequently asked questions

**My Mac has an Intel chip. Will there be a version for it?** No Intel version is distributed.

**I’m on macOS 14. Can I force the installation?** No. The system minimum is built into the app: it does not open on a version earlier than macOS 15.

**macOS asks for permission to access the keychain.** Accept: it is the app that stores your session token and your keys. Answering Deny causes an error and does not switch the app to its fallback vault — see [Your API keys and credential store](/en/application/reglages/cles-et-trousseau/).

**Does Roblox Studio run on the same Mac?** Yes, Studio exists on macOS and remains essential: VibeStarter drives it, it does not replace it.
